Professional Trumpet Player
Billy Thoms is a professional trumpet player in the Chicago area. He has performed with various orchestras in the state of Illinois. Some including the Midwest Young Artists and the Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestra. He also has performed on the radio show From The Top which is a music program dedicated to young, talented musicians on 98.7 fm WFMT, one of the top classical music radio stations in the nation. He has also performed with many brass quintets and at the prestigious Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition. He performed with both the Midwest Young Artists and the Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestra in many countries, including Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, Scotland, China, and South Korea.
He plays for weddings and other special occasions. He has access to a brass quintet if needed for a special occasion. He also substitutes in many orchestras and chamber orchestras. He teaches private lessons to all ages, usually ranging from nine to sixteen-years-old.
